Puerto Vallarta fishing Charters June 2018 is here and the fishing could not be better. The deep sea fishing is continuing to increase in fish numbers. The marlin, sailfish, dorados and tuna are still following the bait into the beautiful Puerto Vallarta bay and the offshore areas we enjoying fishing here in Mexico. The light evening rains will be starting around the middle of the month and this means the bay fishing and the offshore fishing will be fantastic. The water temp is still over 80 degrees and will be all summer long. What does this mean to the average fisherman coming to Puerto vallarta or family ? It means you will have a incredible chance to catch that throphy fish or those tuna and mahi- mahi you are looking to cook at one of the best restaurants in Puerto Vallarta or take home with on the plane back to the United States or Canada.
You can expect some great bay fishing here in Puerto Vallarta. After the rains start the mahi -mahi , tuna, bonitas and even some sailfish will be coming into the bay. The bait are already here and we are just waiting for the pelagic fish to show up. The rains are coming and for sure the bait balls. With all the hot action happening the bay fish will be rocking and catching several good fish every trip.
The offshore fishing has been strong and just as the bay fishing will improve with the coming of the rains and the bait movement. One of the major differences in bay fishing and the offshore fishing is the travel time to and from where we fish offshore such as the El Morro, The Corbetena and El Banco just to mention a few. These are the go to places when fishing for the big fish here in Puerto Vallarta fishing charters. The blue marlin, black marlin , huge tuna, mahi -mahi and sailfish roam these areas as they will be thick with bait. Some days the bait is so abundant it goes on and on for miles. Like a mile buffet only for fish. This is an unbelievable sight to see and defiantly means superb fishing for that day.
We will be using several techniques when fishing the offshore water here in Mexico. Early morning is great for high speed lure and skipping baits. On some of our bigger boats we can run 10 lines along with a couple of teasers. If this does raise the fish they are just not biting in the morning.
Another technique is the slow troll with live baits ranging from a couple of pounds to ten or more pounds. These large bonitas are used for big tunas and the larger marlin. Think about a ten pound snack. Will have to be some kind of big fish to tackle on of these large baits.
At other time is the day we like to run some of the baits on the down rigger up to 100 feet down. These pelagic fish do not always hit on top of the surface. One of my personal favorites is running the fast bait on the surface while running the down rigger so top water and below the water can be coved at the same time. As you can see June fishing in Puerto Vallarta is just getting started but already in full swing. Come down while the beer is cold and the fishing hot.
