Puerto Vallarta fishing report this week has some new news coming up about what we have been catching. And some even more exciting news about some of the up coming fishing tournaments here in Puerto Vallarta and the surrounding areas. The really big question we get all the time is what do we do differently in a fishing tournament versus a regular fishig day of 8 hrs. I’ve heard this before and after the tournaments. The main factor is we fish for marlin, sailfish, tuna and dorados also know as mahi mahi but really big ones as with most fishing tournaments the biggest fish wins or the fishing boat that catches the most fish.
The baits are a bigger and so are the lures. we made sure there is new line on all the reels and plenty of baits with all kind of lures known to man. Of course the hours we fish are set by the fishing committees and can range from 8 hours the first day to 16 hours the next day. Most of the incredible tournaments are three days in length. There is plenty of time to catch the big fish of your dreams and them some. We have a exciting tournament scheduled in June 13 to June 17 , 2018 which will be held in San Blas, Nayarit. San Blas is an old fort 50 nautical miles north of beautiful Puerto Vallarta Mexico with is fanstic fishing grounds. We love this tournament as the fishing grounds are very close and the run is very short. ( less than 1 hour in most cases) The sailfish are thick this time of the year as well as big marlin. The mahi mahi will be in full force this year as all the fishing conditions are looking great and could not be any better.
This week the bay fishing in Puerto Vallarta has been offering the very elusive California Bonita which is a spectular eating fish. The Spanish mackerel are still hanging around the bay as well. The snapper action was on and off but still here. The famous Mexican torros also know as jack Carville are bountiful all over the bay and some of the offshore fishing spots. Speaking of offshore fishing in Puerto Vallarta the fishing was a little off as we had some light color water move in and the marlin/sailfish did not like it one bit. Since that time the water conditions have improved and so has the marlin/sailfish fishng conditions. I’m happy to report there are more sardines and big baits moving into the offshore areas along with the Puerto Vallarta bay fishing areas. This means the fishing will be hot and lot of fish caught over the next few weeks. This coming week should see some great fishing coupled with some great weather.
So what ya waiting for come on down and enjoy the fantastic fishing and incredible weather
Look forward to seeing yall out there in Puerto Vallarta Mexico for fun fishing and sun
