Puerto Vallarta fishing calendar
The Puerto Vallarta fishing calendar is more than just a summation of what can be caught each month here in beautiful Mexico. Once you’ve decided on the month and time that you’re going to come down be sure and check with us beforehand so we can select the most optimal time for you to fish here with us. There are several variables that will influence fish activity all year round. For example, the fish normally feed more at sunrise and sunset and sometimes even during a full moon when we have really high tides.
The calendar is to help folks coming down to Puerto Vallarta and wanting to know what they’ll catch while here visiting. Just a couple of important tips to point out. Remember the fish can’t read these calendars. They are like some of the guests, we take out fishing, they show up late sometimes and they hang around drinking while we are cleaning the boat. So with this in mind take a look at our Puerto Vallarta fishing calendar. Just so you know if I’m booked up with all of our boats on a particular day I’ll recommend another good captain that would get you out for a fun day.
Some of the optimum times to have your lines in the water is an hour before low tide and a few hours after high tide. This is the same for the low tide when fishing here in Puerto Vallarta. One of the top factors in being able to find a fish is the right temperature of the water. This is an overlooked fact by many fishermen and captains alike. These pelagic fish are just like us and have a certain water temperature that they like to be in and also when they’re most active feeding. Another factor, of course, is water clarity. You’re not going to be catching too many sailfish when you have that off-colored water. This factor alone can hamper the fishing greatly and change your day from being fantastic to just an average day on the water.
It’s always a good idea before leaving the dock to have a good idea of where the best water clarity is for you for that particular day. One of the top factors is where the bait are in any given day. When we talked about water clarity and temperatures these are all outstanding factors, but the number one factor in deep sea fishing is where’s the bait. Let me repeat that wears the bait the big fish eat. When you find the bait you will find the fish.
We spend all kinds of hours chatting with other captains and looking at charts to try and figure out where to take our clients to fish each day and the number one factor is always where the bait movement is happening. If you find the bait you were surely find to the fish.
So when looking at the calendars for fishing here in Puerto Vallarta be sure and consider some of the factors that I have mentioned here. If you have any questions how about some of these factors or when’s the best time to book a charter give us a call on our toll-free number 800 430n 6048 and I’ll be more than happy to help you pick the best day for the time frame you’ll be here in Puerto Vallarta for the friendliest people in the world live.
