When February rolls around here in Puerto Vallarta I always like to look back and see what we’ve done over these last few winter months. December was full of rod-bending action with fantastic weather and we had pretty much the same in January. The pelagic fish definitely have hung around this winter. We had temperatures get down to about 63 degrees early in the morning and then get up to a perfect 76 in the afternoon. I still laugh sometimes driving to work and see all my friends and neighbor’s in jackets with 63 degrees weather. We’ve been seeing these temperatures for the last couple of weeks and we’ll see him the same in February. Let’s take a look at what we’ve been catching here in Puerto Vallarta over these last few winter months and what we can expect to catch in February.

Puerto Vallarta fishing report December 2022
The Puerto Vallarta fishing report starts off with some changes this month. First and foremost is the cooling weather and some water temperature changes In the bay and offshore. We had incredible temperatures in November to fish off of. Since the temperatures had dropped a few degrees inshore and offshore fishing. We have had to rethink our fishing places and plans. Such as switching lures, running different baits, and changing some of the fishing spots we like in the winter months. The water never gets really cold here in the Bay or offshore. But it does have an effect on our fishing and the way that we fish during the winter months. Let’s take a look at some inshore action first.
