First impression of the boat was that this was going to be a great first deep sea fishing adventure for our family. My wife and 22 year old son and his girlfriend.
We left on time to the open sea. Our ride to the main spot was 1.5 hours which was a nice ride, sightseeing the land from the sea.
Our Captain was Luis and first mate was Salvador. Both very knowledgeable of the fishing spot and Salvador was so helpful in teaching us how to deep sea fish when you have about 8 lines in the water.
We caught 3 Mahi Mahi that day. And we all took turns in reeling them in which was some effort to do because the fishes were over 3 feet long but so much fun.
Salvador cleaned and fillet our 3 catches and he also prepared ceviches for us to eat on our journey back to the marina.
Luis and Salvador were so helpful and friendly.
We rented the 40′ Dos Amigo boat which features 2 captain fishing swivel chairs in rear, bench seating and an inside dry space to lounge in with a flushable toilet. Top was the driving area plus also another bench to sit on with great views.
Don’t get fooled by other charter boats, we felt safe on a 40′ boat and was worth every penny.

We rented two boats for our party of 5 to maximize our chances of catching fish. Both boats did catch fish and we all had a great time. Managed to catch about 25 fish between the two boats. Dorado is what we were after and we loaded up on them. Brining back about 50 lbs to the states. Also caught some Bonita and one big sailfish. The crews on the boats knew what they were doing. Chava put us on the fish in our boat.
Capt. Pete was very good with the communication and set us up with a perfect 6 hour trip.

We had a great day on the water! There were about 8 of us. We wanted to see the whales and that’s what we did. Captain Pete knows all the spots to find the whale pods. There were quite a few that day which we followed around the bay. At some moments we’d be so close! They’d swim right next to the boat. We also did a bit of snorkeling around Los Arcos. That’s a beautiful place to see. So much wild life. I was excited when I swam down to the bottom and found an octopus hiding under a rock. I wasn’t expected that. Overall it was a great day! Captain Peter knows a lot and is very accommodating and entertaining. He’s the Whale Whisperer!

Great fishing trip! it was our first time fishing in Puerto Vallarta for my boyfriend’s birthday, had the 4 hrs trip and was able to get at least 1 huge Pampano!
Capt Pete and his guys also had a surprise cake for my boyfriend which really melted my heart. Thanks again!

We had a fantastic opportunity to join Captain Pete and his crew Luis and Fernando for a whale watching expedition while we were in Puerto Vallarta over the holidays. They did not disappoint and over-delivered. We saw over a dozen whales (including a baby), 3 large rays and many dolphins which had a blast playing in our wake. I certainly did not expect to go fishing, but the crew set it up anyway, they did mention fishing was a bit slow the day we were out but we managed to find Bonita. The crew were always very quick to refresh our beers and sodas and even made ceviche for lunch. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend chartering with Dos Amigos. Thank you very much, Captain Pete, Luis and Fernando. 
Thanks so much for coming out with us for whale watching. What an incredible day to remember. You are there folks that made the trip. Hope to see you again for more fishing and some whale action. Really appreciate you taking time to write review for us as well.

We did the 4 hour deep sea trip and it was amazing. Not only did we see whales, dolphin, sea turtles and stingray, the crew was fantastic and we caught two large jack crevalle on our way back to the marina. I highly recommend it and would do it again next time we’re here.
Fishing here was amazing and magical. Fernando and Louis were very kind and were very helpful. My favorite part of this experience was watching the whales say goodbye to us. The captains knew the perfect spot for snorkeling and taught us some neat tricks for fishing. Would deftly recommend to anyone who likes a magical experience 
We found Capt Pete through a google search and he had such amazing reviews. We went in with pretty high expectations… and boy he exceeded all of them!
We have 6 adults and two kids ages 7 and my son turned 9 that day while fishing. We scheduled the 6 hour trip and it was the perfect length of time.
We didn’t catch as much as we wanted but still enjoyed every moment of the experience. Capt Pete and his staff made us feel right at home, the scenery was just gorgeous and the boat had so much room.
They even surprised my son with a birthday cake that a month later he’s still talking about. It was such a great experience we will be back and wouldn’t even think of trying anyone else. Capt Pete is the only way to go.

We had a great trip fishing with Luis and Fernando. Fished a full day. Slow in the morning, but caught a nice sailfish late in the afternoon. They even let us troll a little in the bay to make sure everyone on board got to catch a fish.

We had great time fishing. That was the first time I caught toros, the first time my cousins and nephew had been on a fishing charter. They said they really enjoyed fishing and was glad to be part of this experience

My wife and I went out with Captain Pete in May of 2020. We took out his 42-foot boat with him being the captain and tow deckhands (Louis and Raymon). We had a very comfortable ride out to where we were going to fish. We caught 4 yellowtail tuna that averaged about 25 pounds apiece and one Bonita that was about 10 pounds.
We had originally gone out to La Corbetana targeting the big yellowfin tuna. But we were unable to catch one. We were really not there at the best time of the year for that species. Actually, it would have been much better if we were there about 45 to 60 days later. However the captain provided a comfortable ride with Great equipment and excellent service. 
We also hooked and lost a Striped Marlin That was around 100 pounds. Just bad luck.
For anyone coming to Puerto Vallarta and wanting to fish I would highly recommend Captain Pete.

We had a great time with Captain Pete, Luis, and Ramon. These guys really know their stuff and they make you feel very welcome. The scheduling was super easy (we did the full day option), reasonably priced and the customer service was excellent. Lunch was provided for us, of course we caught a bunch of fish, and then Ramon made us ceviche with the fresh fish right there on the boat. We saw tons of dolphins and whales – they were so close! Just overall a great day. We will definitely be back to fish on this boat.

This year was my 4th time out with Capt Pete. It was the most epic trip I have ever had on the water. We pulled in a lot of fish and lost some big ones as well. We caught marlin, sailfish, Mahi-mahi, and Bonita’s. We saw everything in the ocean that day. Turtles, whales, manta rays as big as a boat, and too many dolphins to count. The crew made the day so much fun. They took care of us like we were family. The ceviche was delicious as always. It would be hard to find anyone better to take you fishing.

Great experience

Great trip, professional operation

Big fish with captain Pete
